Asa was born on June 29, 1748 in Framingham, Massachusetts and his Parents were Josiah & Hannah (Barron) Drury.
He was a Farmer and had eventually moved to Natick, Massachusetts which was right across the border from Framingham, he was also a Minute Man with the Natick Minutemen and Needham Militia. It was here while working on his farm in Natick that he first received the alarm for Lexington but they only got as far as Arlington which was known as Mentomony back on April 19, 1775 and they fought the British. And they fought alongside the militias from Danvers, Lynn and Dedham. He also fought at the Battle of Bunker Hill under the command of Col. Samuel Bullard, 5th Middlesex County Regiment. The Natick company responding was led by Captain James Mann.
Asa would serve through out the American Revolution until he was discharged on December 5, 1781. He eventually became a Captain of his own company in the Continental Army.
