Biography Benjamin Greene (aka: Captain Benjamin or "Tobacco Ben")of Old Warwick was born at Warwick on November 10, 1665. He lived on his farm (called " Sennasset ") , situated on the north side of Pawtuxet River, about half a mile from Arnold's Bridge (Dutee Arnold's place).

Know all men by these presents that I Benjamin Arnold of Warwick, in the County of Kent and Colony of Rhode Island, &c., yeoman, as principle, and Phillip Arnold and Stephen Arnold of the same town, County and Colony aforesaid, as Sureties, are all held and firmly do stand bound unto Capt. Richard Sarles Junr. and Mr. William Field, both of Cranston in the County of Providence and Colony aforesaid, Gentlemen overseers of the poor for said town of Cranston in the penal sum of one thousand pounds in current lawful money of New England, to be paid unto the said Richard Sarles and William Field, or to their successors in said office, to and for the use of said town of Cranston, to the which payment well and truly to be made, we bind ourselves and each of our heirs, Executors and administrators firmly by these presents, sealed with our seals, dated this fifth day of January and in the Eighth year of our present Majesties Reign, George the third, King of Great Britain, &c., anno Domini 1768.
Now whereas the widow, Mary Greene, after the death of her husband, our Grandfather, Mr. Benjamin Greene Esqr., went and dwelt for a number of years in the town of Cranston, and after she had sold her Real Estate, the town Council of sd town thought she might soon come to be a town charge and thereupon put her under Guardian, now as she is exceeding uneasy thereat and to make her life more comfortable for the future, &c.
The Conditions of the above obligation is such that if the above bounden Benjamin Arnold or his heirs, Executors or administrators, or any of them, shall and do well and forever keep the town of Cranston clear and indemnified from any cost or charge that shall or may arise for the maintenance and support of the aforesaid Mary Greene, then the above obligation to be void and of no effect, but on failure thereof, to be and remain in full force and virtue in law, &c.

Benjamin lived on a farm called Sennasset, situated on the north side of the Pauwtuxet River, about a half a mile from Arnold's Bridge (Dutee Arnold's place). He received one hundred acres in Coweset from his father in 1717. Benjamin lived to be 92 years old
