Christopher and Lydia were married Jul 1781 at Fort Boonesborough, Madison Co, KY, and they were the parents of:

Mary "Polly"/4 Mar 1784 (Mrs John Hart) David Christopher/18 Nov 1785 m. Nancy Gehsen Howard Frances/1787 (Mrs Robert Caldwell)

Note: There are two sources for their marriage in July at the fort, the "French Tipton Papers" Townsend Room, Eastern Kentucky University Library; and the work, "Fort Boonesborough" by Judge William Chenault, written for Courier-Journal April 11, 1907. These are reported at: "Pioneers at Fort Boonesborough, Madison County, Kentucky, 1775".

"Christopher Irvine . . . came to Kentucky in the winter of 1778-9, with his younger brother, William. He was appointed one of James Thompson's deputy surveyors for Lincoln County in 1783; was a member of the Danville Separatist Convention of 1785; assisted in the organization of Madison County in 1786; was one of the first 10 justices of Madison County. The Court of Lincoln County was increased at it's November term in 1783 by Christopher Irvine. He was captain of a company of mounted volunteers that accompanied General Logan into Ohio on many of his numerous Indian raids and was there killed in 1786."

"William Irvine, pioneer, born in VA about 1750; died in 1820. He was one of the earliest and most notable of Kentucky pioneers, he built Irvine station in Madison County in 1778 and took part in most of the bloody frays with the savages at the time. ...was elected to the legislature of Virginia from the district of Kentucky,...member of the convention of 1799 which framed the second constitution of Kentucky.

His brother Christopher, pioneer, ...was the comrade of William in all his pioneer adventures. In 1786, Christopher led a company of men against the Indians in northern Ohio, and was killed by a savage whom he was pursuing, and who, in turn, was killed by Irvine's men."

"The Kentucky Gazette 1787-1800" by Karen Mauer Green: "Will. Irvine, 8 December 1789, administrator of the estate of Christopher Irvine, dec'd, regarding estate sale at the deceased's home in Madison County.
