About Capt. Daniel Quillman

Daniel Quillman served in the Union Army during the American Civil War. He enlisted in Company A, 31st Illinois Infantry Regiment on September 18, 1861 in Cairo, IL with the rank of Private. On January 5, 1864 in Big Black, MS, Daniel Quillman re-enlisted as a Veteran and was promoted to 1st Sergeant and the 1st Lieutenant on April 2, 1865 in Raleigh, NC. He was promoted to Captain of Company A on June 24, 1865 in Louisville, KY and mustered out on July 19, 1865 in Louisville, KY.
