About Capt David McCullough
He was a sea captain living in Pennsylvania in 1775. He took up arms in the American Revolution to challenge the British Royal Navy. He worked as a Privateer sailing a ship called the Rattlesnake. A Privateer is somewhat like being a "legal pirate." He was infamous for sailing around in the West Indies, and had captured many ships on bounty which he would send back to ports in the United States.
