COOPER, EZEKIEL, (Belmont Co.) [40.08209 -80.89995] Born in 1745, Rowley, Mass. Ensign in Mass Inf 1775. Lt 1777. Capt in Col Ebenezer Sprout's Vt Regt at close of war. Mar Hannah Smith in 1776; children: Sarah & Sally.. Bur Methodist E. Cemetery, Newell Avenue, St Clairsville, Belmont Co., OH. MI: "Ezekiel Cooper Revolutionary Soldier." Came to Ohio in 1788, and in 1807 was living in Warrenton, OH. Member of the Cincinnati of Mass. Ref: Natl No .36174, Vol 37, p 64, D. A. R. Lin. Fur infor Mrs. A. L. McFarland, St Clairsville, OH, member of D. A. R. Wheeling, W. Va. A letter dated 7/14/1930 states that due to a fire at the War Office in 1900 the only records for Ezekiel Cooper verify a warrant # 338 for 300 acres of bounty land was issued in March 25th 1790 on account of his services as Captain in the Invalid Corps and the Massachusetts Line in the War of the Revolution.
