About Capt. Jeptha Martin Hawley, U.E.
He was a Loyalist and in 1776 joined the British Army at Crown Point. He commanded 50 men in General Burgoyne's Expedition. He died in 1813 at Bath,Ontario. Jeptha married Esther Castle 26 Dec. 1762 in Vermont. Esther b. 17 March 1745 (Litchfield, Ct) - d. 1782 in Sorel, Quebec.
