He m.(1) Portsmouth, RI, 16 Mar 1696, ANN LAWTON, b. 25 Apr 1678; d. 12 Feb 1739; dau. of Isaac and Elizabeth (Tallman) Lawton. She was a Quaker. He m.(2) St. Paul's Church, Narragansett, RI, 3 Sep 1740, ABIGAIL REMINGTON GARDINER, b. 1681; d. 6 Mar 1763; widow of William Gardiner, Jr., dau. of John and Abigail (Richmond) Remington.

iii ELIZABETH, b. Portsmouth, RI, 1 Aug 1703; d. 13 Jul 1783; m. Newport, RI, 3 Jan 1722/3, WILLIAM ELLERY; b. Newport, 31 Oct 1701. Child: William Ellery, b. Newport, RI, 11 Dec 1727; d. Newport, 15 Feb 1820. Elizabeth and William's son William was one of the signers of the Declaration of Independence.

iv ANN, or AMY, b. Newport, 1705; d. Newport, 28 Sep 1774; m. Trinity Church, Newport, 22 May 1726, SAMUEL CRANSTON, b. Newport 17 Jan 1707/8; d. Newport bf 2 Apr 1744. Children (Cranston): 1. Samuel, b. 24 May 1736; 2. Almy, b. 20 Jul 1737.

In his will, proved 13 Dec 1743, he named wife, Abigail; daughter, Elizabeth, wife of William Ellery; grandchildren, children of Elizabeth Ellery; daughter-in-law Elizabeth Almy of Newport, RI; grandson, Job Almy, not yet of age.
