William Almy was one of the original land owners in Tiverton, RI, receiving lot No. 10 on Puncatest Neck. During his lifetime he acquired a large amount of property, including land in Dartmouth, Tiverton, and Cadman's Neck, Punketest. At his death his estate, consisting of money, real estate, live stock, and farming implements, was valued at £7,560, 19s, 6d.

The will of William Almy, dated 29 April 1747, proved 3 August 1747, named sons Job, Samuel, and William; daughter Rebecca Slocum; grandson Job Almy, son of daughter Elizabeth, deceased; William Almy, son of Samuel; grandson and granddaughters, children of son John, deceased, Benjamin Almy, Anstice Sayre, and Mary Greene; two children of grandson John, son of my son John, deceased, Elisha and Anstice; wife Hope; cousin Deborah Cook.
