John Holms of Hamilton Parish in :Prince William Coty and Colony of Virga, being sick andweak in body. To my loving son James Holmes one hundred and fourteen acres of land (it being part of a greater tract of three hundred and forty acres lying on the branches of Luckey Run and Johns Branch) to him and the heirs of his body lawfully begotten and for want of such heirs to my son Christopher Holmes and the heirs of his body lawfully begotten and for want of such heirs to my son Edmond Holmes and the heirs of his body. lawfully begotten and forgrant of such to the next heir at law, my son James to have his part laid off (quantity and quality alike) where he is now seating.
To my loving son Christopher Holmes one hundred and thirteen acres of land (It being part of the abovesaid greater tract) to him and the heirs of his body lawfully begotten and for want of such heirs to my son Edmund Holmes and the heirs of body lawfully begotten and for want of such heirs to my son James Holmes and the heirs of his body lawfully begotten and for want of such to the next heir att law, my son Christopher he to have his part laid off (quantity and quality alike) where he now lives.
To my loving son Edmund Holmes (after the decease of my wife Mary Holmes) one hundred and thirteen acres of land it ' being the remainder of the abovesaid greater tract to him and the heirs of his body lawfully begotten and for want of such heirs to my son James Holmes and the heirs of his body lawfully begotten and for want of such heirs to ny son Christopher Holmes and the heirs of his body lawfully begotten and for want of such to the next heir at law my son Edmond to have the plantation where I now lives and his land laid off convenient to it, quantity and quality
To my loving wife Mary Hclmes (Whom I appoint my only and sole executrix of this my last will and testaent) all my personal estate both within doors and without during her natural life and after her dccease my will and desire is that my three sons before mentioned choose three men and they three men equally to divide it ouantity and quality alike as near as possible amongist my three sons James, Christopher and Edmund Holmes. This Indenture made 14th february 1727 between ROBERT HEDGES of Parish Overwharton County Stafford Planter .. THOMAS OWSLEY of Parish & County afsd Planter by deeds of lease and release for Two thousand five hundred pounds of Tobacco .. Caske sold 200 acres beginning at a gut just below the Plantation where WILLIAM GREEN the Elder late of the Parish .. County aforesaid deced formerly saeated and so running up the Run called Attotink the breadth of 100 acres .. the Same breadth back the said 200 acres being part of a Dividend containing 1200 acres formerly belonging to the said William Green the Elder .. by him left to his son William Green the Younger who by his Deed bearing date 11th January 1685 aliened the premises unto THOS HARRISON late of the Parish .. County aforesaid Planter which said Harrison afterwards by his deed of 15th November 1692 transferred unto JOHN HOLMES late also of Parish .. County afsd Planter deced under whom the aaid Robert Hedges now claims the same.
