Captain John 7/ Lamson (Josiah 6/, John 5/, John 4/, John 3/, John 2/, William 1/), was born at Topsfield, Mass., June 3, 1787, and died there Oct. 3, 1856. He married Priscilla Averill, daughter of Elijah and Mary (Gould) Averill, Sept 22, 1812, at Topsfield; she was born at Topsfield, Mass., May 17, 1792, and died Aug. 12, 1872.

Captain John Lamson was a farmer and lived in Topsfield, Mass. His wife was a direct descendant, in the eighth generation, of Governor Thomas Dudley.
