About Capt. John Peyton

According to "The Peytons of Virginia" (1976), Rev. Hayden in "Virginia Genealogies" (1891) erroneously listed Capt. John Peyton, Rev. officer, as son of Craven Peyton and Ann West. The 1976 books states that Capt. John was actually the son of John Peyton (c. 1728-1774) and Seth Harrison. He d.s.p. I see a reference to the DAR Patriots Index, 530, DAR #79,712, but if Capt. John d.s.p., this may not shed much light on the question.
