Joseph Carrington, born 6 February 1741, died 4 April 1802, married on 5 December 1783, Theodocia Mosby, who died 1790. She was the sister of the Littleberry Mosby and daughter of Benjamin Mosby and Mary Poindexter. He was son of Colonel George Carrington, born in the Barbadoes in 1711, died at his seat, "Boston Hill", Cumberland County, VA, in 1785; married in 1732, Ann, daughter of Colonel William Mayo per footnote in The Huguenot Abraham Michaux and Descendants by J. D. Eggleston published in Genealogies of Virginia Families from The Virginia Magazine of History and Biography. Laurie Retzlaff has names, birth and death dates from the Mosby point of vies.
