About Capt. Josiah Edson

Son of Joseph Edson and Experience Holbrooke. Josiah settled in South Bridgewater, and had most of the estate of his uncle Josiah; was a Deacon, and often Representative of the town.

Josiah married of Sarah Packard. They married on 27 July 1704 in Bridgewater, Plymouth county, Province of Massachusetts Bay. They had children: Sarah born 26 February 1704/05 Abiah born 6 April 1706 she died in 1749 Josiah born 24 January 1708/09 Huldah born May 3, 1713 she died in 1800 Abiezer born June 10, 1715 Freelove boen October 11, she died in 1811 Elijah born October 28, 1720 he died in 1761 Josiah became a widow when Sarah died in 1754.

Josiah married Abigail Dean on April 3, 1755 in Bridgewater, Plymouth county, Province of Massachusetts Bay.

Capt. Josiah Edson died January 16, 1762 in Bridgewater and was buried at the First Cemetery in Bridgewater, Plymouth County, Massachusetts.[9]
