About Capt. Nathaniel Vose
Captain Nathaniel Vose was born on 17 November 1672 at Milton, Norfolk, Massachusetts, USA.1 He was the son of Edward Vose and Abigail Sharp. Captain Nathaniel Vose married Mary Belcher, daughter of Samuel Belcher and Mary Billings, on 16 December 1696 at Milton, Norfolk, Massachusetts, USA.1 Captain Nathaniel Vose died on 10 October 1753 at Milton, Norfolk, Massachusetts, USA, at age 80.1
Mr. Vose and his wife were admitted to the Milton Church, Dec. 4, 1898. From his frequent reading and quoting from the Scriptures he was often called the "walking bible." We was a subscriber to "Prince's Chronology." He held various offices in Milton and appears in town records with the title "Captin" from 1734 to death. He was a successful farmer and lived and died on the homestead on the old Glover farm which he received from his father. By his will, written Feb. 23, 1753, his real estate was to be divided between his son Elijah and the heirs of his deceased son Nathaniel. He bequeathed his widow £10 a year and a convenient room in his house, and small legacies to his daughters Miriam Billings and Militiah Crane, and to the children of his deceased daughter, Jerusha McKee.1
