Capt. Paul Bart Gore

Paul Gore was born Abt 1600 in Donegal Co., Ireland, and died Abt 1680 in Manor Gore, Donegal Co, Ireland. He was the son of Paul Powell Gore and Isabella Wycliffe.

A Sir Paul Gore was sent from Ireland or England by Queen Elizabeth to start a colony similar to Jamestown.

"In the mid-1600's, John Gore and James Gore came to America from Ireland. John settled in Massachusetts and James in what is now Prince George's Co., Maryland. In 1711 and 1714, James Gore obtained land grants from the Colonial Government of Maryland for land on Rock Creek and Piney Branch, which is now almost in the middle of Washington, DC, and for other land on the Potomac River."
