Biography
Phillip was born in September 1658, in Malden, Massachusetts.[1] He was the son of Phillip Atwood (abt.1616-1700) and Rachel (Bachelor) Atwood (1633-1674).
He married Sarah (Tenney) Atwood (1665-1739) July 23, 1684, in Massachusetts.[2] They had 4 daughters. The first three were born in Malden, Massachusetts, and Elizabeth was born in Bradford.

- Rachel, b. 15 Nov 1691
- Elizabeth, b. 19 May 1700
Philip died at age 64 on 13 April 1722 at Bradford, Massachusetts.[3] He is buried in the Ancient Burying Ground in Bradford, Massachusetts.[4]
Philip's probate case 993 was dated 21 May 1722.[5] He had written his will on 4 April 1722. In it he mentions:
- Sarah, my beloved wife
- son Head (his deceased daughter Sarah's husband James Head)
- son Kimball and his wife (his daughter Susanna)
- my three daughters, Susanna, Rachel & Elizabeth
Notes: Philip was a weaver, and was a resident in Worcester for a time but was driven away by Indians.
