Phineas was Commander of the 1st Co. Train Band, Southington, CT. He became a Lt. and later a Captain. Moved from Southington, Hartford, CT about 1770, then moved to West Stockbridge, Berkshire, MA. On Jan. 12, 1777 he sold his 30 acre farm for 60 pounds to Lemuel Barnes, yeoman. April 7, 1766 Phineas was made a freeman. In 1777, he moved to the vicinity of Ponpey, NY. In 1815 was on a farm, 2 miles from Orville, Onondaga, NY. Four of his sons were pioneer settlers of Pompey, NY.
