Background
In 1912 Elroy McKendree Avery and Catherine Hitchcock (Tilden) Avery published the seminal two volume edition THE GROTON AVERY CLAN. To this day it stands as the most complete and well researched genealogical reference of the Groton, Connecticut Avery line descended from Christopher Avery and Margery Stephens of England.
This project is a compilation of Geni Profiles that are cited in this benchmark reference. Profiles included here are direct descendants of Christopher Avery and also include those individuals who married into the line and their respective parentage. The purpose of this project is to provide source references to the Geni profiles cited in this work.
As this project develops the intent is to provide each Geni profile tagged in this project with the specific source pages from the reference documents to make the source information easier to view rather than downloading several hundred pages from each volume.
