More information on this man can be found in "Four Brothers of the American Revolution," by Herbert Barber Howe, 1957.

According to this book, Samuel won his military title by serving with his friend, Col. Thomas Howe, against the Indians in Queen Anne's War. He also represented Marlborough in the General Court in Boston. He is said to have introduced tanning and shoe making to the area of Marlborough.

CAPT. SAMUEL BRIGHAM. CAPT. SAMUEL Born in CAMBRIDGE, MIDDLESEX, MA, on 12 Nov 1652. online has 12 Jan. CAPT. SAMUEL died in MARLBOROUGH, MIDDLESEX, MA, on 24 Jul 1713. [2], [3] Source 134: p. 349, in his 59th year. Buried in OLD COMMON CEM, MARLBOROUGH, MA. [4] ?Old Center?, in rear of Academy.

Mary Emily Osborn has: b. 12 Jan 1652 (or 11 Dec) in Sudbury, MA. He removed to Marlborough, a freeman in 1690. DOB listed as 12 Jan 1653. Died intestate. he moved to Sudbury and then to Marlboro at age 3, after his father's death. His mother and stepfather Rice owned land in Worcester. He fought in Queen Anne's War under Capt. Thomas Howe. He founded the tannery and shoe trades in old Marlboro. He is buried in the "Old cemetery" in the rear of the Academy in Marlboro under an ornate headstone.

Samuel Brigham married Elzabeth Howe in 1683. They had 9 children.

Samuel was a tanner. He went to the legislature from Marlboro three times and may have been town treasurer.
