Of Far View, near Whitewell, Co. Westmeath. David North of Fairview, barony of Fartullagh, was registered as a Co. Westmeath voter in 1832 - Irish genealogist vol. 6 no. 1.
"Farview or Fairview House, Rochfortbridge ... Bullt over a basement by the North family ... In 1837 the house was the seat of David North, formerly a captain in the Royal Navy who died in 1863 and was succeeded by his son, John Roger North" - Donal O'Brien, 'The houses and landed families of Westmeath' (Athlone: pr. by Temple, 2014).
He and his wife (née Pim) had 5 sons and 1 daughter. "One of David North's sons was manager of the Royal Bank he married a Miss Emerson and his son was a Col. in the Artillery. He came in for Far View which he has just sold. Another of his sons was a Capt. in a Dragoon Regt. Another married a Miss Gubbins [?] of Limerick [?]. The only daughter married a Dr. Trotter; lives at Summer Hill Co Meath." - North pedigree
