John married Eleanor Cobb of Kingston; the publishment of marriage is dated Nov. 3, 1770.[1][2]

He was a sea captain, and was lost at sea March, 1788.[3]

He was a mariner on the sloop "Swift," commanded by Capt. John Wigglesworth in the Revolution: served three months and 14 days.[4]
