Capt. Robert Latimer, II

Capt. Robert Latimer was the first of this family in America and came here aboard the "Hopewell", arriving in Boston in 1635.

He was a mariner, being master, part owner and finally full owner of a coasting vessel. He removed to New London, Conn. about 1660. According to some records he died in New London in 1671, but other records state that he was "probably lost at sea about 1671."

The children of Robert Latimer and Ann Griggs are: Elizabeth b. Nov 14, 1667 and Robert, b. Feb. 5, 1663-4 in New London.
