He married Lydia Smith on 12 Jun 1724 [location unknown]. He is the father of Samuel Smith Jr., Josiah Smith, Mary (Smith) White and Reuben Smith. Samuel died on 22 Aug 1763 in South Hadley, Hampshire, Massachusetts Bay.
