Captain Sir Edward Blackett, 3rd Bt. was born circa 1683.1 He was the son of Sir Edward Blackett, 2nd Bt. and Mary Yorke.1 He married Mary Jekyll, daughter of Reverend Thomas Jekyll and Elizabeth Howse.1 He died on 1 March 1756, without issue.1 He was buried at Ripon, Yorkshire, North Riding, EnglandG.1 His will was proven (by probate) on 14 April 1756.

He succeeded as the 3rd Baronet Blackett, of Newcastle, co. Northumberland [E., 1673] on 23 April 1718.1 He gained the rank of Captain in the Royal Navy.1 He lived at Hexham, Northumberland, EnglandG.1 He lived at Newby, Yorkshire, EnglandG.1 His last will was dated 7 February 1756.
