Thomas Flood was born in the Virginia Colony. He was the son of John Flood and Margaret Saywell.[2] [3][4]
His birth is estimated as about 1629, as he was the third child and the first was born in Jan 1625.
Like his father, he was fluent in the Indian language. After his father died, he was appointed as the interpreter for the Colony in place of his father.[2][3]
In 1663, he was Captain of the militia and also listed as guardian of Benjamin Harrison.[2]
The name of his wife is not known. He had son Thomas.[2]
