Mary Brasier (1629-1708) is the daughter of John (1594-1665) and Mary (1592-1665) Brasier. According to her 8th great grandson, her specific birthdate was 2 Jun 1629.[1] [Are parents proven?]
She married Capt. John Tarpley (1625-1663), and had the following children:
After John Tarpley's death, she married her second husband William Barber of North Farnham Parish, Richmond County, Virginia about 1664.[2] His will was proved on June 2, 1697 in Richmond County.[3]

Mary was also step-mother to the two nephews of her 2nd husband, William Barber. The boys were orphans of his sister Dorothy (Barber) Millicent and her husband, William Millicent. William Barber appears to have adopted them (they carried the name Barber):[2][3]
- William Barber, Jr.; m bef. 5 Jun 1694 to Joyce Bailey (dau of Sam. and Joyce (Robinson) Bailey.
- Charles Barber, b 19 June 1676; m abt 1700 to Frances Glasscock (b. 14 Jul 1680) dau of Thos. and Ann (Nichols) Glasscock.
The will of James Tarpley mentioned his "brothers," John Tarpley, William Barber and Charles Barber.[5]
Death and Legacy
Mary died about 1676, possibly at Richmond County, Virginia (she and William Barber also lived at Lancaster County, Virginia for some period of time).[2]
