Times-Picayune Friday, October 29, 1847 New Orleans, Louisiana From the Rio Grande and Saltillo By the Alabama we have papers from Matamoros to the 16th. From the papers of that date we clip the following: Postscript We are pained at learning from the Flag [Matamoros], of the death of Captain William H. Churchill, of the 3d Artillery, Assistant Quartermaster. He died at Point Isabel on the 19th instant of yellow fever. Captain Churchill graduated at West Point in 1840. He was brevetted Captain for his brilliant conduct at Resnca de la Palma. He leaves a wife to mourn his loss.
