Funeral service for Carleen Embery Veazey, 80, was Wednesday, Dec. 9, at 11 a.m. at Radney-Smith Chapel with the Rev. Bill Jones and the Rev. Robert Harris officiating. Burial followed in Fayetteville Memorial Cemetery in Fayetteville. Mrs. Veazey died Monday, Dec. 7, 2009, at Coosa Valley Medical Center. She was a member of Fayetteville Baptist Church. She was survived by her husband of 59 years, Brenton Veazey of Fayetteville; daughter, Wanda E. Veazey Wombough and husband Joe of Odessa, Fla.; son, Wayne Veazey and wife Joyce of Sylacauga; brother, Charles Reynolds of Childersburg; two sisters, Jeanette Giddens and Katherine Harris both of Childersburg; grandson, Gabe Cleveland of Sylacauga; and great-grandson, Tanner Cleveland of Sylacauga. Visitation was Tuesday, Dec. 8, from 6-8 p.m. Pallbearers were Robert Harris, Robert Harris Jr., Charley Pope, Gabe Cleveland, Robert Earl Pope Jr., and Willie Landers. Honorary pallbearers were Tom Edmondson, B.J. Barnette, B.J. Woods, and Billy Landers. Radney-Smith Funeral Home directed the service.
