Sophia Loren was his wife twice (1957-1962; 1966-2007)

CARLO Ponti, the Italian film producer who has died aged 94, worked with Federico Fellini, Jean-Luc Godard and David Lean and was nominated for an Oscar as producer of Lean's Doctor Zhivago (1965) - though he was better known as the husband and mentor of Sophia Loren.
