In 1922 moved westward to Utah for work with the Union Pacific Railroad and the Denver & Rio Grande Western line, and by 1924 he had reached Caliente, Nevada with the Union Pacific. Later he moved a few miles south fo Las Vegas. Robert Duke had no children of his own but his marriage to Lyda Sisley Dubes gave him Josie, Elmer, and Olivette as stepchildren to enjoy. After 51 years of railroad work (that's right- 51 years) Robert Duke Taylor retired. A widower now, he lives in a comfortable mobile home near some of the family he helped raise in Las Vegas, Nevada.]
