MEMORIAL PHOTOS 1 FLOWERS 0 Carolyn Lucille Hickox Godwin, 76, of Blackshear, passed away early Tuesday morning, May 31, 2016, at her residence, following an illness.

Born in Hoboken, March 27, 1940, she had lived most of her life in Pierce County. She loved to make dolls, sew and any type of craft work. She had worked many years in housekeeping at Baptist Village and was a member of Southgate Baptist Church.

She was a daughter of the late Archie Hardy and Idell Gunter Hickox.

Survivors include her husband of 55 years, R.L. Godwin, Blackshear; two daughters, Karen Peacock (husband Mike), Blackshear and Violet Johnson (fiance Lee Mills), Waycross; five grandchildren, Justin Peacock, Storm Peacock, Jonathan Goodin, Dylan Johnson and Hannah Johnson; six great-grandchildren; two sisters, Annette Wood, Waycross and Jacklyn Jones (husband Bill), Waycross and several nieces, nephews and numerous other relatives.

Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, June 1, at the funeral home.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 2, from the Pearson-Dial Chapel.

Interment will be in the Blackshear City Cemetery.
