Carolyn J. Weiss

Ms. Weiss, age 85, passed away peacefully at her home following a brief illness.

She was the daughter of the late Guy E. and Lina (Hill) Dunn.

She attended Corinth schools.

She had been employed as a seamstress at Cluett Peabody in Corinth for a short time. She worked for the Saratoga County Department of Social Services as a Home Health Aide for over 20 years and was a foster mother for 37 years.

She married Galen J. Weiss on May 23, 1948 at the Rockwell Falls Presbyterian Church Parsonage.

She was active in the community, having served as the Town of Hadley Historian since 1991 and served as chairwoman of the 2001 Hadley Bicentennial. She was also a member of the Hadley Senior Citizens.

She was predeceased by her husband of 57 years, Galen Weiss, who died on May 18, 2005; one son Bruce J. Weiss who died on October 26, 1978; one granddaughter Lisa Thompson who died on April 25, 2002; and one sister Phyllis Terry who died February 7, 2017.

Survivors include one daughter and her husband of Benson, North Carolina, their daughter their children; grandchildren; daughter-in-law; three special foster children, their children and grandchild; one nephew; one niece; as well as several cousins.

Services were held at the Brewer Funeral Home Inc., 24 Church Street, Lake Luzerne. Funeral services were conducted with the Reverend Philip Allen, pastor of the Community Church of Conklingville, officiating.

Burial was private.
