Notes for Gasper Tarr:
A native of eastern Pennsylvania he is supposed to have gone to Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania as a young
man and engaged in farming and achieved large financial success. He became an extensive landholder, acquiring
nearly one thousand acres of land which became known as Tarr's Station. He assisted in the building of Reid's
Station on the Allegheny River above Kittaning, Pa. He was a very wealthy man.
