Born March 28, 1773, and baptized April 4, Catharine Laidlie was the third child of Maria Hoffman and Archibald Laidlie, and the only child to marry and have children of her own.

"Married, at the Mayor's, on Saturday evening, by the Rev. Dr. Linn, Anthony Dey, Esq., to Miss Catharine Laidlie, daughter of the Rev. Dr. Laidlie, late of this city, deceased." From: "New-York Gazette" New York, New York, February 23, 1800.

• Maria Laidlie Dey, born 1807; married i. Rev. David Cook Axtell, ii. Charles A. Cook.
• Catharine Antoinette Dey, born 1810, married Samuel Porter Williams.

"Died: This morning, Mrs. Catherine Dey, the wife of Anthony Dey, Esq., in the 44th year of her age. Her friends and relations, and the friends and relations of Mr. Dey, particularly the gentlemen of the bar, are respectfully invited to attend her funeral, at the dwelling house of Mr. Dey, no. 21 Pine-street, at 4 o'clock P.M." Died: "At Hudson City, N.J., on Sunday morning, Oct. 9, Anthony Dey, Esq., in the 83d year of his age. The relatives and friends of his family are invited to attend his funeral, on Tuesday afternoon, at 2 1/2 o'clock, at Hudson City, N.J. Carriages will be in attendance at the Jersey City ferry, at 2 o'clock on Tuesday afterrnoon." From: "Commercial Advertiser" New York, New York, October 10, 1859.

Died: "Dey - At Shrub Oak, near Peekskill, Caroline Richards, relict of Anthony Dey, of this city, in the 72d year of her age. Funeral from her late residance, at half past one o'clock, without further invitation. Relatives and friends, taking the 10:40 train, Hudson River Railroad, at Thirtieth street, will find carriages awaiting at the Peekskill station."
