Further Questions/Issues: -WB
1. Could she maybe have been called Louisa (as nickname) - as well? Just thinking out of the box here - not saying it is a fact! Articles are mixing a Louisa du Preez or van Wyk up with this Catherine lady!
2. Remember : There are discrepancies in articles - about a Louisa du Preez, or a Louisa van Wyk - thus named with different surnames, married to J L Lee!
3. Also - a lot of mentioning in some articles - of a Louisa van Wyk's grave (died 1870) - on the farm during childbirth? Maybe they were the same person? You valued opinion please? Research is ongoing! - WB
4. Now - not so sure about this nickname / same lady theory anymore ... ??? Patience plz!
5. I think Louisa du Preez or van Wyk was another lady and possibly his 3 rd wife: PUTITIVE PROFILE!
6. Think their kids are also maybe mixed up? Busy searching for docs.
7. Why is her name recorded differently on various docs, with various names: there is a Martha; a Maria; a Cornelia ? What is going on here? Even Cornelia versus Catharina - as 1st name?'
Patience plz!
Thanks - WB

Louisa Van Wyk, wife of John Lee, an early European pioneer in Matabeleland (later Rhodesia, now Zimbabwe). Louisa died in childbirth at Fort Mangwe, Rhodesia.
There is speculation about if she was actually Louisa van Wyk, or Louisa du Preez. Thnxs -WB
