About Catherine Eden
Catherine Shaftoe, daughter of Mark Shafto and his wife, Margaret Ingilby, was born on 23 September 1689 and was baptised at St James, Westminster on the 2nd of October.[1]
Catherine married John, the eldest son of Sir Robert Eden Bt and his wife, Margaret Lambton, at Whitworth in County Durham on 31 Jan 1715.[2]
John died at Bath on 2 May 1728 [3] and was buried at St Helens Auckland on the 17th of the month. [4] He was succeeded by his only son, Robert.[4]
