Catherine (King) Ellis was a North Carolina colonist.
Catherine was born about 1712 in Chowan Precinct, North Carolina (became Bertie County in 1722). She was the daughter of Henry King and Catherine Clark. She passed away before August 1779 in Bertie County, North Carolina and is said to be buried in Bryan Family Cemetery, Nixonton, Pasquotank County, North Carolina.[1]
Catherine is named in the will of her father Henry King dated 24 February 1714 and proved in court April 1716 in Chowan Precinct, Albemarle County, North Carolina. She was left 100 acres of land "...lying in Virginia in the County of Nansemond ... between the flat Swamp and the third Swamp...."[2]
Marriages
Catherine married William Bryan, son of William and Alice (Macland) Bryan, about 1730 in Craven County, North Carolina.[3] Known children (named in will) include:

Catherine married second Aaron Ellis about 1765 in Bertie County, North Carolina. He died in 1769 in Bertie County. They had no children.
Note: some state she was also married to William Todd between the marriages to William Bryan and Aaron Ellis. No evidence has been located for that marriage. In court filings located, Catherine named only two husbands -- William Bryan and Aaron Ellis.
