Catharine Hoffman 1828-Deceased

Sources on her mother's FamilySearch page list children with her second husband, Simon. Catharine is one of them. So supposedly, her parents are Simon Coon and Magareth (Reifenberg?) A few of the christening records just list Margareth or Marg., no surname. Without seeing these records in context, we don't know if the Margareth's are the same person with two husbands or two different women. Very confusing.

Per James Garrison 4/13/20:

I obtained a copy of Catherine Garrison's Birth Cirtificate from the NY State Archives. It shows her father as Peter H. Hoffman and her mother as Catherine Coons.

From a copy of, Koon and Coons Families of Eastern New York: "Simon S. Coon and wife Margareth Riffenberg had Catherine b. April 28, 1809".

Also:" Simmon Coon and wife Margareth Riffenberg had John B. b. Dec. 1, 1811. The names Simon and simmon are errors for Samuel."

After finding that I concluded that Catherin's father is Samuel.

Also from that book: "Catherine Coon b. April 28, 1809 married Peter Hoffman April 3, 1825 and lived near W. Taghkanic."

"Peter died March 16, 1883 at 81 yrs. 6 mo."

"According to Latham Coon, Catherine Coon Hoffman had grand children (numbering 31) including Fred and Lester."
