Coroner's Inquest
This Deponent Katherine Huston on her oath saith, I am a Widow residing at Kingston
The deceased James Huston was my husband, I last saw him alive on the night of the 17th inst about 9.45 pm. He went outside a that time, said nothing as to where he was going. I went to bed and left a lamp burning on the table expecting he would soon return. About 7 am of the 18th inst - I was awoke and told that Constable Robinson was inquring for me and informed me that my husband was dead.
He was in charge of the gate at Kingston & was suspended on the 7th inst on account of the gate being broken, and it seemed to have preyed on his mind. He had been five years in the employ of the Railway Department. Taken and sworn before me the 18th day of May 1892 at Kingston M Pollard JP Coroner
Katherine Huston her mark (she has signed it with a cross as she must not have been able to read or write)
