English married Bernard Conway (age 30), son of (--?--) Conway, at Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church, Front & Allen, Philadelphia, Philadelphia County, PA. Rev. M. Filan presided. Witnesses were Ellen Harding and Cornelio Conway. Bernard Conway and his wife, Catherine J. Conway, and their children, John and Edmund, appeared on the census of 9 Jun 1880 at 1933 Tulip St., Ward 31, Philadelphia, Philadelphia County, PA. Also in the household was his sister, Mary English. Bernard Conway reported that he suffered from cramps in the 1880 Federal Census. There were six boarders living in the household; one of whom was reported as having consumption. On Tue. 8 Sep 1885, Catherine J. Conway witnessed the marriage of Michael Rafferty and Alice English, daughter of Edmund English and Mary Hanrahan, at Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church, Front & Allen, Philadelphia, Philadelphia County, PA. The family owned their home, but it was mortgaged. On 6 Jun 1900, Catherine J. English had five children but only three were still alive. She appeared on the census of 6 Jun 1900 at 12 Arkansas Ave., Ward 4, Atlantic City, Atlantic County, NJ, as a neighbor of Thomas Russell and Ellen Russell. The family owned their home, but it was mortgaged. It appears that the two families occupied the same house and may have been partners in the hotel business. In 1910, Catherine J.
