Edmund English

Edmund English was born circa 1817 in Co. Cork, Ireland. On Tue. 7 Mar 1848, Edmund English married Mary Hanrahan (age 19), daughter of Timothy Hanrahan and Catherine Noonan, at Parish of Kilbehenny and Anglesboro, Co. Tipperary, Ireland. He was a farmer on 7 Mar 1848. In the United States Federal Census of 1880, he was listed as Edmond English. He immigrated before 1 Jun 1880 to USA since he appears in the state of Illinois in the 1880 Federal Census. Edmond English and his wife, Mary English, and their children, John, Michael, Edward Michael, Alice and Timothy Anthony, appeared on the census of 1 Jun 1880 at Elm St., Village of Tallula, Menard County, IL. He lived at 1430 Beach St., Philadelphia, Philadelphia County, PA. He died at age 75 years on Fri. 26 Aug 1892 at 1330 Broad St., Ward 18, Philadelphia, Philadelphia County, PA. Cause of Death: acute nephritis. He was buried on 30 Aug 1892 in Section T, Range 5, Lot 27, in the New Cathedral Cemetery, Second & Butler, in Philadelphia, PA. His funeral was held from his late residence, 1430 Beach St. High Mass was celebrated at the Church of the Immaculate Conception. Mrs. Joseph H. Hookey, 1245 North Second St., was listed as the undertaker.
