(Krawiec) Daguio, 48, of Suffield, wife of Duane C. Daguio, died peacefully on Thursday (May 4, 2006) surrounded by her loving family at the UCONN Medical Center in Farmington.

Born on May 23, 1957 in Springfield, MA, she was the daughter of Mary (Tacik) Krawiec of Suffield, and the late Walter Krawiec. Catherine was a graduate of Palmer High School with the Class of 1975 and went on to graduate from Tufts University with a Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Therapy, and obtained two Master's Degrees from the University of North Carolina in Public Health and Special Education.

A resident of Suffield for over 15 years, Catherine had lived in Farmington, North Carolina, and Hawaii. Catherine had a very special love for infants and children. She worked at the UCONN Medical Center as an Infant Developmental Specialist and Director of the NIDCAP Training Center, where she was extremely dedicated to her work.

Catherine was a loving, dedicated mother, devoted to her daughter, Alison. She was a loyal friend; she loved gardening, bargain shopping and was an avid fan of Basketball, especially rooting for the UNC men's team and the UCONN women's team. Catherine loved spending time in Hawaii, where she took in the beautiful sunsets, enjoyed looking for double rainbows, and eating sushi with special friends.

Besides her husband of 19 years, Duane, her daughter Alison, and mother Mary, all of Suffield, she leaves a sister, Elizabeth Mascaro and her husband Alan of Wilbraham, MA, their children, Alex, Brian, and Anna; and many other friends and family members in California, Florida, Arizona, Boston, Connecticut and Hawaii.

Family and friends may gather on Tuesday 10 a.m. for a Mass of Christian Burial from Sacred Heart Church, 446 Mountain Rd, Suffield. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Suffield. Her family will receive friends on Monday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the Nicholson & Carmon Funeral Home, 443 East St., Suffield.
