[Sociedad_Puertorriquena_de_Genealogia] To Sociedad_Puertorriquena_de_Genealogia@yahoogroups.com Today at 4:39 AM If you are related to Jacinta Vazquez Santiago, then we are extended cousins. It so happens that Jacinta Vazquez Santiago, of Loiza (actually Hato Puerto Ward, in Today's Canovanas), is sister to my Great Grandfather Francisco Vazquez Santiago. They are the children of Pedro Vazquez Carrasquillo and Felipa Santiago Robles.

Updated May 7, 2002
About Our Family Research
Research has been able to place my family ancestry as follow's:
CORREA-The Royal House of Castile and Leon in Spain, The Royal House of England, The Holy Roman Empire, The Royal House of Portugal and Iberian Peninsula.
CORREA IN PUERTO RICO The Correa Family Surname research has indicated that they first settled in Arecibo, Puerto Rico. The Villa of Captain Correa ( La Villa del Capitan Correa )speaks of a Spanish Military Captain that fought and defeated a British invasion in Arecibo, Puerto Rico. He is my 8th Generation Great Grandfather on my Mothers Side. Details indicate that the family quickly spread to Isabela, PR and other surrounding towns. Details also indicate that the Correa family ties into the Colon family by way of Christopher Columbus.
CORREA IN THE ROYAL HOUSES OF SPAIN The lineage of Antonio El Capitan Correa on his mothers side (Francisca Menendez DeValdes), follows into The Royal Houses of Castile, Aragon, and Leon by way of his grandmother Isabel de Castro Hinestrosa, ( my 10th Generation Great Grandmother) to De La Cerda y Mendoza, down to King Alfonso X of Castile and Yolanda Aragon (my 15th Generation Great Grandfather and Grandmother), then to King Ferdinand III and Beatriz Von Hohenstaufen( my 16th Generation Great Grandfather and Grandmother), James I of Aragon , to Alfonso IX and Beregaria of Castile.
CORREA IN THE HOLY ROMAN EMPIRE Beatriz Von Hohenstaufen's ( my 16th generation great grandmother) father was The Holy Roman Emperor Philip of Swabia who married Irene of Byzantium ( my 17th Generation Great Grandfather and Grandmother). Philip of Swabia's father was Frederick I Barbarossa also Holy Roman Emperor and my 18th Generation Great Grandfather. Irene of Byzantium's father was Angelus Isaac II Emperor of Byzantium ( my 18th Generation Great Grandfather also). Frederick I married Beatrix of Burgundy.
CORREA IN THE ROYAL HOUSE OF ENGLAND Several members of the Royal Houses of Castile and Leon in Spain, married into the Royal Houses of England and Portugal. King Ferdinand III's (my 16th generation great Grandfather) father was Alfonso IX King of Castile and Leon whom married Berengaria of Castile (my 17th generation great grandfather and great grandmother under the Royal House of Castile). Berengaria's mother and father where King Alfonso VIII of Castile and Eleanor Plantagenet of the Plantagenets of the Royal House of England. They united the Royal House of Spain and The Royal House of England and numbered (my 18th Generation Great Grandmother and Great Grandfather). Eleanor Plantagenet's father was Fitz Empress King Henry II Curtmantle and her mother was Eleanor The Duchess of Aquitaine( my 19th generation Great Grandfather and great Grandmother under the Royal House of England).
CORREA IN THE ROYAL HOUSE OF PORTUGAL In regards to the Royal House of Portugal, King Alfonso IX ( whom, I mentioned previously as my 17th generation great grandfather) mother and father where, Ferdinand II King of Leon and Urraca of Portugal. This bought the Royal House of Leon to unite with the Royal House of Portugal. Urraca's father was Henriquez, Alfonso I King of Portugal. He married DeMaurienne Matilda of Savoy.
