Cecilia Lane

Cecelia Love was not only the wife of a Providence settler but seems to have had a close relative who co-owned an early mill on the Perkiomen:

We read in the first issue of The Perkiomen Region past and Present {page 4} (Henry S. Dotterer) (Sep. 1894)
"Among the other important surveys made by (Hans Peter Umstat) were these Fifty acres for
the New Hanover Lutheran congregation, completed April 1 7, 1719 ; soon after December 3,
1722, a road from Plymouth road northward to Perkiomen creek , and thence to "the Indian ford on Schuylkill"
which is still the main road between Norristown and Phoenixville; in March,1725,
a road from the grist mill of James Shattick and William Love , on Skippack road , to the King’s road "..

Edward Lane's father William Lane, who married Cecilia Love, was a grocer in Bristol, England and a Quaker

William was one of the first purchasers of land (500 A.) from Wm. Penn

Edward is thought to have come to PA prior to 1683. He resided temporarily in Bristol Twp, where 250 acres of the land of his father were laid out for him.
