CELESTIA WELLS RUSSELL, 80, of Citra, Fla. and Athens RD 1, passed away Dec. 26, 1987 at home in Cita, Fla. after a short illness. She was born in Athens, July 26, 1907, daughter of Avery and Bessie Chandler Wells. She was a life-long resident of the Valley. She was a member of the Sayre Chapter o. 43, O.E.S. and a 67-year member of the Athens United Methodist Church. She was predeceased by her husband, Raymond in 1980. She is survived by Mrs. William (Shirley) Griswold of Athens RD 1; Mrs. Joyce Turnipseed of Citra, Fla., Raymond A. Russell of Oregon, Wis., Mrs. Barbara Muffley of Sayre and Mrs. Morman (Marcella) Brown of Athens RD 1, 11 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, a sister, Mrs. Edna Isabel Grimley of S. Waverly; several nieces and nephews. Friends may call at the residence of Mr. and Mrs. Norman Brown, RD1 Highland Drive, Athens anytime after 2 p.m. Tuesday. The funeral and committal service will be held at the Athens United Methodist Church Wednesday at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Dr. Wilmot Mather officiating. Burial will be in Tioga Point Cemetery. An Eastern Star Memorial Service will be held Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to the Athens United Methodist Church, Wills and Memorial Fund. –Towanda Daily Review
