"3009 Chamberlan Hudson plat dated 20 August 1762. 540 acres in Granville County on the north side of Reedy Creek , joing the Mouth and side of Meadow Spring branch, Beardins line, Mays and Moseleys line, Persons line, and Joseph John Alston SCC: John Hudson, William May Thomas Person, Survr."

Bute County NC was formed from Granville County, and was only in existence from 1764-1779. Chamberlain Hudson is mentioned in land records there in 1765, 1769, 1771; and 1772 and 1775 on Reedy Creek. A Chamberlain Hudson signed the Oath of Allegiance to NC in Bute Co or Warren County (formed when Bute was abolished) sometime between1774-1804.

In 1788 Chamberlain Hudson was granted land in Warren Co from the State of NC, and sells it in 1790.
