Charity married Abraham Medaris on 09 Oct. 1814 at Champaign, Ohio. She was born 07 Feb. 1795 in Harrison County, Virginia. They were organizers of the Antioch M.E. Church Society about 1820, now known as the Plattsville Methodist Church. Charity was the daughter of John and Mary Richards Ellsworth.
Abraham and Charity had the following children;
William Medaris (6) b. 11 Nov. 1815 and died in 1858. He married Sarah A. Prudence 19 Oct. 1843 in Shelby County, Ohio. It does not appear that they had any children. (CR: 1850, 1860 Miami Co., Ohio) David Tuttle Medaris (6) b. 19 May 1817 and died 13 Feb. 1905. He married Rebecca Frazier John Ellsworth Medaris (6) b. 1819 and died 1856. He married Mary Ann Wood. Mary Elizabeth Medaris (6) b. 1823 she married Hugh Underwood on 12 Jun 1846 in Shelby County, Ohio.. Thomas Beecher Medaris (6) b. 25 Oct. 1826 and died 31 Jan 1919. He married Mary Helen Ingersoll Simeon Davis Medaris (6) b. 26 May 1830 and died on 28 Apr 1904. He married Elizabeth Kress. Wilmuth H. Redmond Medaris (6) b. 1832. She married 10 May 1864, to James I. Vannice. Jacob Ellsworth Madaris (6) b. 4 Mar 1835 and died 23 Jan 1911. He married Sarah Buster.
After Abraham's death, Charity and some of the children lived with her daughter Wilmuth and her family in Gardner Township, Kansas. Charity died in 1896. Abraham and Charity are likely buried in the Old Pioneer Cemetery near Plattsville.
