Charlene (16), from Arcadia in Pretoria, went missing on August 16th after going out to eat with friends. Her burnt and mutilated half-naked body was found on 17 August next to the Koedoespoort railway tracks.
Two days later, Estelle Botha identified her daughter at the Pretoria state mortuary by the tip of her nose, her right foot toes and a mark on her chest. "My child's face was so ugly I hardly recognized her.
"Three weeks after the police found the charred body of Charlene du Preez next to a railway line, a family friend found her burnt hand.
