Charles Wesley Durr was born October 15, 1901 in the town of Parkhill, Middlesex County, Ontario, Canada. He was married to Velma La Dell Hamilton and to this union was born one son Ronald Le Verne Durr.

He was saved in Alsask, Saskatchewan, Western Canada in 1925, was sanctified and recieved the baptism of the holy Ghost in december 1926. his ministry began first in the pentecostal Church and four years later in 1937 he united with the church of god. His ministerial studies included Bible Training Camp in Cleveland, Tennesee.

Brother Durr's Ministry spanned a period of twenty-seven years. He served in the capacities of evangelist, Pastor, district overseer, and state overseer. He was licensed as an evangelist on june 1 1938, and was ordained as a bishop in 1944. He served as a national Overseer of Canada for four years (1944-48). Most of his ministry for christ and the church was full time; however, in later years as his health began to fail he served in a part-time capacity.

The fruit of Brother durr's ministry speaks for itself. His overseership carried him into secluded sections of canada. He pressed on with a desire to accomplish what he could for christ and the church in difficult circumstances when there was little available finance and the opposition of the enemy was strong.

At the time of his death, June 6, 1991, Brother Durr was resident of life care center in Boise, Idaho. arrangements for the funeral were handled by Alden-Waggoner Funeral Home of Boise and he was laid to rest in the Dry Creek Cemetery to await the great day of the resurrection when the dead in christ will arise to meet him in the air with all the living saints.
